Lincoln Tomb Ceremony
Oak Ridge Cemetery
The 51st annual ceremony commemorates the death of President Abraham Lincoln sponsored by the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War and the Military Order of the Loyal Legion of the United States. A parade of uniformed units will precede the ceremony. Speakers and musical selections will be followed by the laying of memorial wreaths by patriotic and historical organizations. The public is encouraged to attend the ceremony for which there is no admission charge.

The 2007 Heroes Breakfast will be a colorful and inspiring event held on Friday, April 20 at the Crowne Plaza, Springfield. Doors open at 7 a.m. Breakfast begins at 7:30 a.m. The cost to attend is $20 per person. To purchase a ticket or for more information, please call (217) 787-7602 or visit www.il-redcross.org.
Presented by Illinois National Bank, this breakfast will benefit the American Red Cross Local Disaster Relief Fund to provide assistance to disaster victims in Christian, Logan, Macoupin, Menard, Montgomery and Sangamon counties.

The Garden is at its loveliest in late April and early May. The forest floor is carpeted with wildflowers and the dogwoods, crabapple and redbud trees are at their peak color.
